Ben Genet is the founder of Genet Property Group and the author of two books:
“Writing a book was never on my bucket list.”
In 2005, life was good. I was making money, and I thought I was destined to becoming rich and famous.
Then came the 2008 Great Recession. The U.S. real estate market collapsed, triggering a global financial crisis. It could’ve been the end of Genet Property Group.
Instead, it was a beginning and an important lesson for me in the power of persistence. I have never been naturally gifted in anything. But my ability to focus and move strategically ahead has always been my superpower and it has taught me that consistency is more important than natural ability.

Born Jumping by Ben Genet (2013)
A Book on Overcoming Challenges and Defining Your Purpose
My dad died when I was young, and there were so many things I never had a chance to ask him.
I wanted to share my personal life lessons with my children in writing so there would be no potential for revisionist history. I persevered and rallied.
My first book, Born Jumping, was completed in 2013. My business had regained its momentum and was on an upward trajectory. In the process, I learned that purpose is a hill that you hike up. If you momentarily reach the top, you need to start again.
“It’s the struggle that gives your life its true meaning and helps you define your purpose.”
Born Jumping is a book about overcoming challenges and embracing new ones. I shared my personal battle with ADHD, the ups and downs of marriage and fatherhood, and my quest to find a financially and emotionally sustainable career.
In it, I share my “Jumper’s Success Formula,” a proven method to identify your goals, strengths and fears and maximize success in everything you do.
My hope was it would help my children prevail over their own struggles, and in the process define their own individual purpose and relevance.
A Virtuous Cycle by Ben Genet (2025)
Success Through Giving and Influence
“I never envisioned writing another book.”
But my second book, A Virtuous Cycle: Living in Abundance through the Cycle of Charity, Relevance, and Influence, was published in 2025. While my first book addressed the “hard ways” to achieve success, my second book focuses more on the “soft ways” you can impact your financial future:
The intended audience for this book is not my own children, though knowing they read it would give me great personal satisfaction. This book is geared to young entrepreneurs, and focuses on “The Virtuous Cycle”:
While it may sound counterintuitive, fulfillment is not about taking more but giving more. Charitable giving creates a powerful network of relationships and opportunities that compound over time, benefiting both your business and the causes you care about.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, business leader, or someone seeking to make a meaningful impact, this book provides a practical blueprint for using charitable giving to transform your life while creating a powerful catalyst for extraordinary success.
